Following the recommendations wemade to the government and TSC for effective transition of grade 6 learners to Junior Secondary- one of them being the deployment and employment of adequate teachers to ensure seamless implementation of the JSS Curriculum, I would like to laud the Government and more particularly TSC for considering Promoting approximately 10,000 Primary School teachers with degree to JSS.
This promotion was long overdue and will go along way to address the gap so far experienced during the first weeks of learning.
Reports we are getting from the teachers is that the Learning areas are many,the newly employed graduate teachers are also finding difficulty in handling the young learners.
The promotion and deployment of the 10,000 primary Graduate teachers will therefore help in the transition as they have the basic skills of handling these type of learners right from EYE all the way to Grade 9.
