When Easther Wangui Waititu, KEWOTA member, took a needy girl under her care, she had no idea where the funds were going to come from to sponsor the girl in case she did well in exams.
Her worries were exacerbated by the news that Mary Nyambura had scored 347 marks and was called to join Ndururumo Extra County School in Laikipia.
Through a well wisher, the alumnus of Shalom Primary in Laikipia Central, was only able to get a paltry Ksh 10 000 as part of her fees out of the total needed.
However, she did not worry for long. The hawk eyes of KEWOTA members of Laikipia Central soon spotted the girl and spread the word.
Not known to ignore needy cases, KEWOTA office soon got the news and dispatched a team to the ground and the verdit was clear: the girl needed assistance.
Mary will now join her dream school courtesy of KEWOTA having cleared the balance for term one today.
“I am grateful to KEWOTA for being my main benefactor and for coming to supplement my fees which,” said Mary.
