KEWOTA SENDS DELEGATION TO DELIVER 100K TO MEMBER WITH AILING SPOUSE IN UYOMA

When mzee Fred Mitto was in Hospital, his wife, Eve Mitto, only wanted him to be released for palliative care at home.
She had lost hope after the hospital refused to provide the much needed surgical intervention due to non approval from the insurance provider.
But God sent Benta Opande, the CEO of KEWOTA.
She lobbied TSC to unlock the impasse and Mzee Mitto was wheeled to the surgical table for an emergency treatment.
A few days later, Mitto is now recovering at his home in Uyoma Kobong’ having been successfully amputated.
And today, Kewota, Bondo Chapter, led by Millicent Otieno and on directive from CEO Opande, paid a visit to the family of Everline Mitto who is a KEWOTA member at her home which few meters from KNUT SG’s home.
The team that was also accompanied by Awino Gilbert from KEWOTA head office, delivered a cash donation of *Ksh 100000* from KEWOTA to enable the family take care of Mr Mitto who could not hide his joy.
“KEWOTA does not run a way when problems arise and when a member needs us.” said Bondo Coordinator, Millicent Otieno.

Eve thanked KEWOTA for standing with her when she needed assistance the most.
Mzee Mitto on his part said that he has never seen and organisation that cares for members and their spouses especially during moments of need.
Kobong’ is home to KNUT SG Oyuu Collins whose home faces Gagra Primary School, and other big names such as Aete of Access Bank.
Opande, in a brief read by Awino, re-emphasized KEWOTA ‘s commitment to a beter welfare of all teachers in Kenya.
She urged teachers to join KEWOTA so that they are not left behind when the time comes.
Since inception KEWOTA has sponsored teachers to further their education, sponsored needy children and lobbied for a better environment.
“Kewota is the only teacher organisation that has visited and prayed with me in my rural home though I am a member of a Union,” said Eve who is also a teacher at Kondele Primary in Kisumu and a KNUT member.
