KEWOTA CALLS FOR ENHANCED CAPITATION TO IMPROVE THE MEDICAL COVER FOR TEACHERS

During the just concluded heads conference, KEWOTA CEO BENTA OPANDE told teachers that MINET was the only insurance consortium that had the structures and networks to cover teachers medically with the current capitation that govt gives to them.

“The NHIF cover rejected to cover teachers with a capitation of 9 billion for the over 300 thousand teachers plus their families,” said Benta.

Benta said the only thing that can help improve services by AON MINET is government increasing capitation. Money given to the medical administration of teachersis too little. In fact we should praise MINET for doing their best with such little money.

Her sentiment were echoed by KNUT SG Collins Oyuu who said that as a union, they believe MINET is doing their best.

Kewota was founded not only to address issues but also to enhance better living standards for female teachers and their families financial empowerment, investment opportunities, development projects and career and workplace advocacy.
