Thogoto Teachers Training College (TTC) Table Banking Group is one of the most successful Inua Dada programs under the KEWOTA empowerment agenda.
Operating on a net worth of over Ksh 1,09million and loaning members at the rate of Ksh 300,000 for normal loans and up to 350 000 of emergency loans, the group is spoilt for choice and is looking forward to investing more and more.
However, one of the challenges that a vibrant investment group such as Thogoto faces is how to identify the most favourable venture.
That is why, as the 19- member team was having its monthly table banking meeting, nothing could be more musical to their ears than a talk by KEWOTA on the available business opportunities for the group as a table banking unit.
Speaking to the team, Miss Sylvia Osano the KEWOTA Investment Lead encouraged the Thogoto team to continue to be more energised and to be on the look out for the soon to be launched KEWOTA microfinance as well as Insurance Agency that will boost members with capital and provide affordable insurance options to the KEWOTA members respectively.
The Investment lead further delved into ways of mitigating against risks associated with businesses and as well as financial discipline.
The Principal of Thogoto who is also the KEWOTA Coordinator for Tertiary Madam Margaret Khainga hosted the meeting. She was accompanied by colleague Margaret Kamau among others.
“We are grateful to KEWOTA for boosting our financial literacy and for showing us a path to a better investment,” said Madam Margaret.
