KEWOTA national officials led by its CEO madam Benta Opande and Jacinta Ndegwa( National Treasurer), have called for Zero-rating of Sanitary towels. Speaking to Ramogi TV and Inooro TV yesterday ,the two vibrant leaders of our times reiterated the need to zero-rate this essential personal care item.
Most children have been missing crucial lessons in school because they cannot afford sanitary pads. This has been occasioned by the economic constraints that have bedeveled their families.
Zero-rating this essential personal care item will go along in mitigating the challenges that have faced many school children. This move is encouraging and we rally other stakeholders to join hands in ensuring that our children are fully in school.
In other news, the KEWOTA has also embarked on a campaign to help the hunger striken families. The association in the past days, has distributed food stuffs to families and school children worst hit by hunger pangs occasioned by the country’s worst drought in decades. This is in line with the President’s efforts of distributing food to families facing hunger.
