Earlier today morning KEWOTA Migori County chapter officials led by Sophia Chacha the coordinator and Kennedy Nyakone representing the CEO madam Benta Opande on a mission to rescue young girls who were destined to undergo through the traditional FGM in Kuria West Sub County with success being registered as the above subject is one of the 12 Agenda points of KEWOTA. The mission was successful as they were able to act before the exercise would be executed.
Kennedy Nyarogi emphasised on the dangers of subjecting the young girls to the old traditional cultural practices and urged the parents, teachers and members of the general public to be on the look out and report such cases to the law enforcement authority and agencies dealing with the issues of gender. KEWOTA also gifted the young girls as it donated hundreds of sanitary towels.
